Actor
Tim Abell Joined the Mix Masters to give the
recipe to an old favorite concoction, the "Sir
Rum A Lot", that he used to make in his days as a mixologist.
Tim said, "Actually, the writer T.L. Lankford used to come into the bar and sauce it up a bit and wanted a foo-foo drink that was based on a Pina Colada. So I blended together a bunch of other alcohol's into the mixer under his guidance and we had the 'the Sir Rum A Lot'. I even have to give T.L. credit for the name. Boy, could he suck those things down!"
Tim and John spent some time bartending together for at Le Cafe (now Il Balcone) in Sherman Oaks, California. That's where they developed their own style unique blend of atmosphere and beverages.
"Working with Tim was like skating on thin
ice" say's host John Vogel, "you never knew what prank he was going
to pull out of his pocket to stir the crowd up! One eye was always on the
crowd with the other on Tim." Just like the old days, Tim lived up to
his
reputation
while shooting the "Excuse
me sir, is that rum in your drink, or are you just happy to see me?"episode
of The Mix Masters by pulling out some "bubba" teeth
during the taping.
